TAILORS OF THEIR OWN DESTINY

The story of Zuya started in 1991, when Franci and Jana Zupanc, began manufacturing underwear under the Zuya brand name. These beginnings were humble. Starting out in their spare room barely big enough to house a cutting table, a couple of machines and fabric. In 2004 Franci and Jana were joined by their son Uros and were soon stretching out into every corner of their family home, until in 2007 the Zupanc family relocated production into the current premises in Mavcice; a small village at the foot of the Slovene Alps. By that time the company had grown to 15 employees. In their 25 years of activity, the bonds woven between the Zupanc family and their employees transcend ordinary working relationships. The company is a tight-knit community they like to call 'family Zuya'.
  

INTERTWINED WITH THE LOVE OF NATURE

Nestled within the green heart of Europe, at the foot of the Julian Alps close to the fairytale worthy Lake Bled. Surrounded by unspoiled nature we are constantly reminded about the necessity to preserve and protect our environment which we have incorporated into our business ethics and work processes. This is put into practice with our 'zero waste' and low carbon footprint policies, such as sourcing materials locally or within Europe from ethical producers, reusing and recycling paper and post manufacturing waste. The  running and maintenance of our factory adheres to the same principles, by using biomass for heating and the harvesting of rain water. But it doesn't end here as we are constantly striving to improve on our processes to diminish our impact on the environment.
