BAMBOO FIBRE PROPERTIES

 THERMO REGULATION

Much like wool, bamboo has the uncanny ability to keep cool in summer and warm in winter, making it an excellent choice for winter sports base layers.

ODOUR RESISTANT

Bamboo contains an anti-bacterial and anti-fungal bio-agent which is retained through the fabrication process and even after several washes.

UV PROTECTION

Bamboo fabric cuts out 97.5% of harmful UV rays, making it the  perfect summertime travel companion.

HYPOALLERGENIC AND BREATHABLE

Ideal material for anybody with allergy prone skin. Bamboo fibre fabric is  anti-static, breathable and more absorbent than cotton which helps to wick moisture away from the skin, keeping you drier.

SMOOTHER AND SOFTER THAN COTTON

Our viscose made from bamboo is blended with a small amount of elastane for extra comfort and a luxuriously soft, wrinkle-free handle.

Increasing populations is resulting in a rising demand for fibre based products, placing further pressure on the planet’s remaining arable land. While global commitments to restore 150 million hectares of degraded and deforested land by 2020, industries and corporations desperately continue to search for tree free, deforestation free fibres.

Bamboo is a most resilient plant requiring no pesticides, fertilizers or irrigation to thrive. It can grow on degraded land,  providing positive restoration properties while at the same time reducing deforestation. Bamboo is fast growth rate and high productivity results in significant volumes of fibre produced per area.

In order to produce high-quality bamboo viscose fabric, a process must be used which uses a non-toxic solvent to break down the ‘woody’ bamboo pulp. These same chemicals are routinely used in the processing of organic cotton into fibre, as approved by the Global Organic Textile Standards (GOTS) and the Soil Association. We only source our bamboo fabrics from suppliers that can provide OEKO-TEX 100 certifications which proves that no harmful chemicals were used in the process and no harmful chemicals are present on the final product.
